Here are the videos from this year’s Buckhead Production 24 hour film contest. This year’s competition was called FLIPPED. First, the teams randomly chose a genre. They were then given a choice between two movies to recreate in that genre.
Each team had full access to all of the Final Cut Studio bundle, a green screen setup, boom mic, panasonic DVX100 camera, Hollywood Edge sound effects library, Groove Addicts music library and a full wardrobe closet. 24 hours later the films were done. See if you can find all of the standard requirements. Enjoy!

The Intersect Project is our way of serving the community of Atlanta. This project launched almost two years ago from the Buckhead campus. Through http://www.theintersectproject.org/ small groups can choose from a variety of service projects and sign up online.
This is a bit late but none the less… before the original launch of this project the Groups department asked a few of us to make a video for the launch of Intersect. Well after a lot of meetings, writing, shooting and editing. This is what we came up with. Enjoy!
If you haven’t seen it before. This is the “Intersect music video”. Original song by Kenny Yasuda and Danny Stephens.

It’s back .. and in Buckhead, baby!! You spoke.. we listened.
Back in 2003 when North Point Community Church (NPCC) began a simple team-building event for the Production Volunteers, we had no idea that it would become the annual event that is has.
If you’re new to Twenty Four.. this event involves showing up on a Friday night to learn who is on your team of six to eight volunteers. Next you find out the parameters: mandatory prop, phrase, location, topic, etc. Then your team has 24 hours to script, story board, shoot, edit and turn in a five- to seven-minute film that is watched by all your family and friends. There’s judges, awards, popcorn, movie candy.. the works!
It’s the best 40 hours you can stay awake! If that confuses you.. think about it.. you wake up Friday morning, go to work, head over to the church afterward for dinner and the kick-off of one amazing event. And before you know it, you tack a 24-hour event on top of a 16-hour day. Ok.. don’t let this scare you… sleep is optional. It’s not like we require you to stay awake. But sometimes that’s what it takes to keep up with the competition. And trust me.. the bar has risen higher and higher every year we’ve held this event.
Twenty Four quickly became the annual event that drew volunteers from two campuses (Buckhead and North Point) and is the reason most volunteers ask, when is the next one? In years past Twenty Four has been held at NPCC in January, and the biggest feedback we’ve received from the you is this: can we have Twenty Four in the summer? Think about it… more hours of daylight.. warmer temperatures.. and right in the heart of Buckhead. It just doesn’t get any better than this…
If you’re new to the team and are wondering what it’s really like, check out this link to past year’s videos: http://www.buckheadproduction.org/?cat=38
If you’re a production volunteer for Buckhead Church or North Point Community Church, please mark your calendars for Friday night to Saturday night, June 20-21, 2008.
BTW.. there are only a limited number of spots available, so don’t wait to sign up! If you’re interested, please email production@buckheadchurch.org as soon as possible to secure your spot on what will soon be the best thing you’ve participated in all year!!
This song was originally recorded by Twista and Faith Evans. A local artist named Kenny Yasuda rewrote the lyrics to the song to really tie it into the series. Kenny is also the artist that you see performing.
Kaye Woods(video assistant to the stars) created the video that plays the lyrics during the song. I liked the look . I want to try more stuff like this. I loved the fact that we did something a little different with this song. It turned out great.
Also, this was Todd Widdon’s first time going solo as a video director. Great job Todd.
Thoughts anyone?
